Information collected

MMIPS may collect submitted information, submitter contact information, photographs, documents, correction/removal requests, alert preferences, and technical logs needed to operate and secure the site.

Public and private information

Not all submitted information is public. MMIPS may keep submitter contact information, private notes, sensitive locations, and review records private. Public profiles should contain only reviewed information intended for public awareness.

Safety masking

MMIPS may generalize or hide locations to protect minors, domestic violence survivors, trafficking victims, families, witnesses, and active investigations.

Alerts

Users must opt in to receive alerts. SMS alerts, if enabled, must include opt-out instructions and maintain consent records.

Children

Only adults should submit information or subscribe to alerts. MMIPS should not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
